Sunday 15 July – Kingshamn Sweden
After the travel days we decided to take it easy today. We stayed at and around the campsite. Getting used to camping; get water at the toilet building, shower in limited time due to the use of coins, dish washing at the washing place etc. In addition, put all the stuff we brought along in Bloomie in order because it was a bit exploded. The campsite was at the water, a great opportunity for Ewout and Anna to make a refreshing dive into the cold sea water.
Monday 16 July – hike and picknick around Tangevik
Today we went for a walk around Tangevik, near Kungsham. We parked Bloomie at a parkingplace near Ramsvik stugby & camping and got a small map of the surrounding at the reception (where we also could pay for the parking because the payment via phone didn’t worked for us). We then walked a bit over rocks and through a forest to finally get to the other side of the headland and to walk on the sea side. There was a nice picnic spot where we could have lunch before we returned to Bloomie.
Tuesday 17 July – travel from Kungshamn to Krokkleiva
We had reserved to the campsite until today and despite that we wanted it was not possible to book a night longer at the campsite because of the crowds. So we went on the road. The packing cost us more time than we had estimated so we had to make a stop for lunch after half an hour’s drive.
The day before we found a camping in Norway which we would like to go to, but because the ride went less fast than we expected we decided to drive to another campsite, camping Utvika. A nice quiet place with a great playground, small beach with shallow water. Great for swimming.
Wednesday 18 July – Krokkleiva
Due to our own cause we had a waterbed after a rainy night. Luckely the day was sunny so we could dry it all during the day. Ewout tried to inflate his Stand Up Paddleboard but didn’t succeed with his own pump. He spotted another person with an inflatable SUP and could borrow his pump to inflate the SUP. The starting of even more water fun.
Thursday 19 July – Sundvollen
After we dried all our bedding we decided to go up to Sundvollen, to have a hike. We drove up and came by a toll sign where you where could buy a ticket. No barrier or person who controlled you, just the request to take your responsibility. Love it. We payed and drove on. We parked and walked up. The hike was nice through the forest but not much opportunity for impressive views. We had a pick nick down at a small lake but a swarm of wasps made us leave quick.
We walked down again and there was the amazing view we hoped for. We took some beautiful pictures and where lucky to see a parachute flyer run down and fly away. The evening we decided to travel on the next day. We packed all we didn’t need for our morning routine with the kids in the evening for a earlier leave.
Friday 20 July – On our way to Laerdal
As Anna and Livia like to start the day early we left Camping Utvika at 9h. We drove trough the Hemsedal and were stunned by the surroundings. What a beautiful country. And everywhere there are typical Norwegian houses with grass on the roof for isolation. We parked the car at a small road to have a small picknick while enjoying the views. We arrived at the campground in Laerdal in the beginning of the afternoon. The camping is situated ad the water so we could enjoy the water and the views on the fjord there.
Saterday 21 July – roundtour
Because we had a restless night we decided to make it an easy day and drive around and explore the surroundings.
From Laerdal we drove up to Ovre Ardal and followed the 53. After a small and steep road we had some amazing views. We didn’t dare to stop because it was so nice and quiet. If you ever come there, take the 53, it’s a beautiful ride. We drove further and somewhere at a dead end road we discovered a picknick spot. Not sure if it was in use or left after winter, but we enjoyed it.
After an easy day we had a quiet evening at the campground. Kids finally zzzzzzzz early. This entry was posted in Europe
